What I think happened, the dump happened so fast, Kraken started lagging and everyones stop loss went through with massive lag. Meanwhile everyone with buy orders cancelled them causing massive slippage for the stop losses that did go through. Then it just fucked up entirely, seeing no orders were going through at all.

I think the drop was so fast that the orders simply could not be filled fast enough. There was simply no buyers at your order. Some stop orders got filled, they just caused the crash to get even worse. And I suspect all those stop orders are going to cause Kraken, (and other small exchanges), to stay down for a little longer.
